A night out at Suite with In the City Jax

This Thursday we attended the In the City Jax Suite Heart event benefiting GoRed for Women and The American Heart Association. This was our first time at Suite and an In the City event, and it turned out to be both a great location and great group of ladies.

Putting the finishing touches on the Sweetheart Corset

We decided to dress for the theme by wearing custom corsets. Mine sold right before the event and Brema has a last minute wet paint emergency (crafty tip: don’t try painting when it’s muggy, it stays tacky). That left us with one fancy corset for our muse model of the evening, Kelly Jane.  Brema and I wore plain corsets to show what they look like without the embellishments.

Suite is a new place in the St. John Towncenter, next to Whiskey River. Great looking place, and all the appetizers going around were delicious. They have a live band that sounded great and got a lot of people on the dance floor.

For $10 we got a wristband and took advantage of the free champagne and apps. I got 3 raffle tickets and missed winning by one number! So close! The corset was quite a hit, and Kelley was a good sport with everyone wanting to touch the hearts and ask what they were made of.

We really enjoyed talking to everyone and telling them about the shop. The group was so nice and welcoming, you could tell everyone was there to have a good time. We will definately be attending another In the City Jax event.

Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and had to rely on the iPhone and its sad camera to get photos.  Documenting an event with an iPhone is tedious and the results are…not so great. But we at least got some dark blurry pictures out of it.

They did have a couple professional photographers there, so check out some of the good photos here: http://www.jrbstudios.com/?p=1144
